Event Details
Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra The Magical Instruments of Harry Potter: Family Matinee Concert. With a short, interactive program that takes audience members on a musical journey to meet the instruments of the orchestra, featuring some of John Williams’ music from the beloved Harry Potter movie series, our family matinee program is perfect for families of all sizes and children of all ages! Be sure to arrive early for activities, refreshments, and a little extra music in the lobby prior to the performance, and then sit back, relax, and enjoy the show created to enchant and entertain the whole family.
Student tickets are $10. Chaperone tickets are $20.
Please choose the FREE PAID WITH FUNDS ticket option to reserve any ticket that you would like to pay for with your student's planning amount. Once registration closes the teacher leading the field trip will reach out with instructions on how to place an order in Procurify.
We encourage you to turn in a sample that is linked to the field trip that you attended during your next learning period. It helps to ensure that we can continue to provide these trips and their educational value.
Heartland field trips are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please indicate this when you register your student and let the field trip host know once you complete your registration.
**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**

Refunds will not be given for any reason. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip, please contact the teacher that planned the event to let them know so they do not wait at the venue for you. You may not send a different family in your place as we will not have a waiver for them.
May I pay using my student's planning amount? Yes! You can pay for your student's ticket and one chaperone ticket with your student's planning amount. You will need to choose the free Heartland Student ticket or the free Chaperone ticket option. (One chaperone ticket per family per field trip may be purchased with student planning amounts.) Once registration closes the teacher planning this field trip will reach out with instructions on how to place an order in Procurify. Funds will be deducted when your order is approved. Your spot on this field trip will not be confirmed until you have placed your order in Procurify when instructed to do so.
Whenever possible we will list the option of paying out of pocket for field trips by using a credit card through Eventbrite. Any additional adults and/or non-Heartland enrolled students will need to use this option when purchasing tickets. (Eventbrite charges a small fee in order to offer this service.)
Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? All ages are welcome but each person must have a ticket.
What are the check-in procedures? Check-in with Mrs. Casavant outside in front of the lobby between 1:00 and 1:30. Please make sure to arrive within this window.
Is there on-site parking available? Parking for Mechanics Bank Arena, Theater and Convention Center is located off of N Street between Truxtun Avenue and California Avenue. Parking rates vary by event. During non-event hours, limited-term box office parking is available on Truxtun Avenue in front of the Arena.
Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? No.
