This field trip requires you to place an order in Procurify for any ticket paid for with your student's planning amount.

Event Details

Does your child(ren) enjoy ice cream, or want to know the process for how it’s made? If so, please come and enjoy a tour of our very own Bakersfield Dewar's Candy Shop!

This field trip will allow students to explore the shop while learning about the process of how chemicals react in the making of ice cream and their specialty treats!

There will be an opportunity for families to purchase ice cream out of pocket after the tour.
The cost for this field trip is $2.20 per person. Babies and toddlers under age 2 are free but do need a ticket.

Chemical Reactions Grades K-2: 2-PS1-4 Matter & Its Interactions: Construct an argument with evidence that some changes caused by heating or cooling can be reversed and some cannot.

Chemical Reactions Grades 3-5: 5-PS1-4 Matter & Its Interactions: Conduct an investigation to determine whether the mixing of two or more substances results in new substances.

Chemical Reactions Grades 6-8: MS-PS1-3 Matter & Its Interactions: Gather and make sense of information to describe that synthetic materials come from natural resources and impact society.
